I got sandwiched at a stoplight between two police cars last night dropping off mail at the post office. They didn't pull me over for anything. Not even my 20% tint O.o

If the housings start to show signs of wear and tear then you can always switch the lower nub back to where it was originally supposed to be and you'll be good to go.

Was the plate frame covering any part of the registration stickers?

.... and yes they can find pretty much any reason to pull someone over.

they can pull you over for anything, but the only thing you have to worry about is a ticket or warning, etc.

back to original question...Why would a cop pull you over for having a brighter bulb? Whats illegal about it? Thats like asking if the cops will pull me over if i put HIDs in my car...

IDK, maybe its just where I live that cops dont care. I get away without a front plate, and I also dont have any amber bulbs up front either. All my lights (including blinker) are white. Never been pulled over for illegal tint either. (35% front windows, legal is 50%)
Alot of the cops that work for the city I live in are actually pretty nice and have better things to do, one time I did get pulled over by a dyke cop tho that had something up her a$s...

I dont see why a cop would pull someone over for these. I rewired mine about a year ago, yes they are brighter but they arent gonna blind you. Just another reason for them to pull u over i guess

anyone else have this happen?

I got pull over but not for the clear corner light but the cop did yelled at me for them and told me that they are illegal with clear bulbs .. but than again it seems everything in Mass is illegal ..and most inspection stations will not inspect the car with out oem lights housings ..

It mostly depends on what mood the cop is in and which cop you get. I have been pulled over for not signaling( when i know i signaled and my signals worked at the time cuz i checked them that morning. Also, I have been pulled over for having my music too loud... when i didint even have a deck in( was in the middle of a sterio swap). explain that one:S

I did this mod almost first thing after getting my car, silverstar ambers and rewire. I didn't snip a nub though I just wired the high power line into the constant power.

Both of my OEM clearance lamps(plastic) cracked from this mod. When I first did it about 4 years ago I had some kind of high wattage white bulb with blue tinted glass in there. I'm not sure if that bulb puts out more heat than an oem sylvania bulb. Currently in my new lamps(plastic) I have amber silverstars un-modified.

If I were to modify the silverstars will they crack this set of housings as well, or was it those high wattage white bulbs that did it?

ive had a cop look over the front of my car. He asked if they were after market. Always make a story up for a cop, never tell them the truth.

Technically, the light housing, wiring, and bulb (in my case) are OEM, just modified. They are not "aftermarket"
