Piggyback??

Hello all,

I dabbled in the search feature for a bit, but I couldn't seem to find any info I was lookin for.....

I was just curious if anyone can give me any insight on an SAFC-1 for my 98 5sp. A friend of mine has one just sittin around and Ill take it off his hands if it will actually do any good for my car.

I recieved results in search for VAFC and SAFC-2, but nothing other than a classified for an SAFC-1.

Can anyone help me out here??

P.S. Mods are listed in the sig.....

Thanks,

Anthony

Asking for "insight" on the SAFC is pretty darn vague. What specifically do you want to know?

There is a wealth of info in the All motor forum on this.... and great info is in the stickies there too.

Actually I didnt think to look on the All Motor Forum......

The "insight" I was looking for was along the lines of if it would actually be worth it or beneficial performance wise if I added an SAFC-1.

Sorry for the bad wording

Yes, it's worth it as long as you have a wideband gauge to go with it so you know what your A/F is......and tune accordingly.

As your car currently stands, an AFC won't do much for you. Once you add your future mods, it will be more beneficial IMO.

I wasn’t aware that Aaron made ‘em for the VQ30. Get a dyno w/AFR and see wher you’re at, then decide if you need one. Odds are, you can benefit from one.

Yep, I noticed that they were in the plans when I checked in at VQPower, and when I saw that they were done I got all excited.....

So its not worth it without a wideband huh??

It's a good idea to get. But after spending time/money at the dyno so many times, in the end it's more cost effective to get a wb also.
