Tranny issues!

hey i just picked up a 96 Maxima Auto..and i believe its stuck in first gear..it tachs up but doesnt shift at all..any ideas? Fluids good.

have you checked the shift linkage?

Check the tranny harness near the starter. I had my starter replaced at the dealer several years ago, and the knuckleheads knocked off the harness. When I picked up the car from the dealer, instantly the check engine light came on....and it wouldn't shift gears....felt like mine was in drive though, not 1st

Replace the transmission.

Check the fluid level then check the tranny harness and I am sure the tranny's torque converter Is gone.
