What DO YOu do ABOUT RATTLE in the TRUNK!!!?!!?

i have one 12 inch sub in the trunk, everything sounds great inside, but outside sounds like ive locked a midget in the trunk and he's kicking trying to get out. Does anyone use dynamat? or can give me any advice on what my options are in stopping the rattle?

Super glue!
I kid. I have 12 inch subs but I don't get any rattling. Is something loose? Check under the rear speakers in the trunk and see if there's anything that needs to be tightened or needs tightening.

Yea mayne, I also have 2 12's in the trunk and u would def need to Dynamat it. I have a Dynamat trunk Kit in mine, and it def reduces the rattling, it still rattles but not like it does without Dynamat, now it doesn't sound like a bunch of tools rattling in the trunk. Make sure you have someone who can install it really good or you could do it yourself.. It's also like a wall of it in the back of my trunk to, so when someone sits in the back seat the base is not hitting them in the back. You can also put it on, and behind your license plate so that doesn't rattle all over the place too. Hope this helps homes

I used Dynamat Xtreme on my Durango and not only did it stop rattling, but *greatly* improved the quietness of the interior. Next to tires and suspension, I think it's the single best thing you can do to improve ride quality simply for the sound deadening effect.

hahahaha nice

the cheap way and this greatly works. go to home depot or something, buy wall insulation and all those holes you see on the trunk, stuff them in all the way, be careful not to stuff to much were you unlock the trunk cuz will stiffen. reduced my rattle to nothing, no lie and very light weight FTW

if you have a spare tire, the ring that holds it rattles too.

add dynamate if you want and will only improve the sound quality and noise.

Most likely its your license plate, do that first(Dynamat license plate kits) then go from there, I was gonna do my whole trunk but its fine with it just behind the license plate, I also got two 12"s.

Slightly cheaper alternative to dynomat is the stuff from Second Skin Audio.

I deadened my doors, rear deck, behind the rear seats, and the whole trunk including the lid. And the 5.5 known to rattle already with the stock bose sub lol.

No rattle inside or out. Can't tell I have audio when I'm next to you unless I open the window. If it seems like its coming from the license plate add a piece of sound deadening material and secure it tightly.

dynamat the license plate, behind it and around the bolts, dynamt the sunglass holder under the bolts, and put some wall insulation in the panels in the trunk and around the spare, should work really well! if you wont you spend lots on the dynomat trunk kit and use that, but its heavy? so I would suggest just some light weigh packing of any sort, cotton towel's work too but wall insulation is easier to place!
