Is it AFC vs Fuel Pressure Regulator or both???

Is it AFC vs Fuel Pressure Regulator or both???
Little confused on this one, even after searching for the past 2 days.
So here's the deal: Gonna eventually run higher than 50 shot of NOS. I know one of the things I will need to change is the stock fuel pump. So, let's say i have upgraded the stock fuel pump, and it usually goes without saying the stock fuel pressure regulator cannot handle it. So i need to upgrade the Fuel Pressure Regulator. If I were to install, for example, an Apexi Super AFC, would I still need a Fuel Pressure Regulator. I think I would, because the AFC would manage the Fuel flow in it's relation to Air flow, but not necessarily the Fuel Pressure, which is managed by the Fuel Pressure Regulator.
So basically, my thinking is, you need at least the upgraded Fuel Pressure Regulator. While the Apexi Super AFC is an advanced way of tuning the A/F ratio, but does not control the fuel pressure. Is this right?
Sorry if this is confusing. Thanks for the help gang:-)

Re: Is it AFC vs Fuel Pressure Regulator or both???
I am running Nitrous and wanted the Apexi S-AFC to control Fuel flow. I called Apexi and they told me you can use it to tune fuel flow BUT you can not save settings. What I mean by this is you need two fuel settings:
1. Running without nitrous
2. Running with nitrous
You should be able to set up the S-AFC to "save" each of these two settings, but you cannot, as stupid as it sounds. Basically everytime you use the NOS and everytime you stop using it, you need to "tune" your S-AFC. This is the stupidist thing I have ever seen. I am not sitting everytime I want to use NOS and messing with it. They should have allowed you to save 2 or 3 settings, but they didn't. I would stay away from this if I were you.

no AFC for NOS..it's just not practical.
Yes you will run rich with just the new fuel pump....an adjustable FPR is a good idea...that's all you should need....you can tune your NOS (ON) mixture with different fuel jets when you bump up the shot.

Not that I have first hand experience, but I heard that the S-AFC is not compatable with the Maxima. It works for about 3 hours, then our ECU resets itself and bye bye fuel map modifications. This is just what I heard. Get a fields fuel controller, it's supposed to work fine. You will also need a regulator whether or not you get some type of air fuel controller, because fuel pressure is not regulated electronically, only the injectors are. Therefore, if you have more fuel pressure, you are going to get more fuel unless you replace the Mechanical fuel pressure regulator.

Yes it is enough. The S-AFC is used to fine tune you air/fuel ratio's throughout the fuel map per RPM's...
