Wilwood wheel clearance prob's... HELP!!
I just got my max back from the mechanic. They tried to install my wilwood brake kit, and told me that the calipers hit the rim!!! Any body have a similar problem. I have 17x7 SSR's I believe the offset is 113mm if that helps. The machine shop where my motor for the stang is at, is willing to grind on the calipers and the wheels(scares me) for me if that will make it fit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. By the way I called wilwood and they couldnt help me, stating that condoning altering the calipers was a liability, understandable but not helpful.
Thanx,

113mm???? H&R spacers available from shox.com, they come with longer studs. You can use a cheapie spacer from your local speed shop as well (about $10) or even use the cheapie to measure clearance.

As stated above get spacers... (or a new rim type...) Try to check how much 'extra clearance' you need... All you need is like 1mm clearance... the Calipers are fixed mount so they don't really move.
DO NOT GRIND THE CALIPERS! (or the RIMS)
Check if your mechanic used washers like I did to center the caliper, you may leave them out if you are close and it may buy you 1-2 mm clearance... Click on my WILWOOD link in my signature below...
