PO440 and PO446 aka 0705 and 0903, help please

Hey everyone,
I am very confused as to the CEL codes that come up on my 1996(POO440 PO446). I have read the diag sticky, however it does not seem to be much help with either code. Has anyone else run into the codes that I have? I know that they point to the evap canister, but nothing is very specific. Are these two codes hurting the performance of my car? How about the gas milage?

Thanks,
Zack

take off the rear driver side wheel and you will see on right side evep canister box and evap vent valve bolted vith 2 10 mm bolts.take it off and put wd40 ,push the piston inside up and down until it unfreese.clear the hoses and check everything for cracks
