Anybody taken out their carpet?

I need to know how difficult it is to remove part of the carpet. Don't need to fully pull it out I don't think but is it just pulling it up and then spraying adhesive under it to put it back together?

Which part are you trying to remove? Towards the rear or the front? Its not hard at all. No adhesive is needed. What exactly are you wanting to remove it for?

I'm trying to figure out how to run my wires for my audio. Want to keep my driver side wires away from the amp power wire so I was going to pull the carpet up just enough to run the wire across the car to the back passenger corner.

Oh, thats super easy. You dont have remove the entire carpet for that. You can just pull it up and hide the wires.

This is what I did ... I took out the driver seat ran the wires from the middle console and than turn in to the driver seat down and thru the floor and took out the bottom of the back seat and into the trunk .. here is avery usefull tip go to autozone or any place that sell tools and buy one of thoses long graby thingy so you can grab the wires and pull them to any space you can't fit your hand thru ...

well I know it's easy to pull of the edges to hide the wires but I need to run them across. I was planning on running the wires through the door, down the carpet then turn the wire on the carpet under the seats really and route it to the passenger side, then run it back through the edge of the passenger side with the front passenger speaker. So I need to figure out how to pull the carpet for that. Or I may just run the wire under the dash across to the passenger side. Might be easier...

Not sure how much time you want to spend on hiding wires, but under the middle console, right under the cup holder area, there is a huge cutout on the carpet. You can run them through your shifter area and stick them through the cut out thats there. You might be able to do that with only removing the rear seat(not the back support) and pull up that portion of the carpet to yank on the wires.

Under the dash is a piece of cake. Simply remove the 2 kickplates on both the driver and passenger side. Then there are small plastic screw-type fasteners that hold the carpet in. Finally, remove the ECU kickplates. Now you can easily hide the wires under the carpet from the drivers left foot to the passengers right. I ran my 4Ga amp wire this way.

I ran half under the passenger side along the doors edge under the plastic trim. Since ya can only squeeze a few under there, I ran the other half the same way on the drivers side. Like the other poster stated above, remove the bottom part of the back seat and slip em into the trunk. Looks super clean and you won't see any bumps in the carpet. Good luck. If ya need help, I'm in CT also.

well I planned on running them on both sides of the car but I was told to stay away from the amp power wire if I could. That's why I'm trying to figure it out. At this point I'm thinking of running the wires under the peddle area, back through the center console under the carpet and just pulling that back part of carpet up to get them in the trunk.

Yes, definitely stay away from the power wire. Too much noise, I experience this with my AUX input running right with the cig lighter I relocated.

think that's my plan now. should be easy enough to pull that back part of the carpet back right? And crossing over the power wire isn't going to cause much noise right?

I would guess yes to that one. I usually try to keep the RCA's with the speaker wires together and leave the power wire isolated.

well my amp is backwards so the power wires need to route to the right side of the trunk. Is it ok to route my power wire behind the engine on the firewall to the passenger side and run the rca's on the drivers side?

I wouldnt, I would bring it to the front of the car, and run it under the dash to the left of the drivers side, out and through the tire well. If you do decide to do it, I would find some appropriate way to make sure it is secure to the firewall and/or something else. The ambient heat wont hurt it, but contact with any of the engine will.

I think I'm either turning the sub in towards the interior or just flipping the amp upside down ha

flipped the amp so things are ok but I realized no matter what I am crossing the wires. The speaker wire still has to come across the power wire to route down the middle of the car to the trunk. Will I get interference?

If the amp is mounted sideways, (i.e. the wires come out the sides, not top and bottom), Cant on wire go above the amp, and the other below?

the amp is fine. I flipped it so the power wire is on the drivers side. I mean the power is on the drivers side and I need to run the driver speaker wire across the car so it will still cross the power wire so to speak. Interference or what?

well heres my ten cents. with my amp cableing i merely took out the back seat cusion (easy theres 2 clips u pull and lift the seat out) ran the cables from the trunk through the seat back, down the seat into the carpet and cut a small slit under the center console ran the wire out of the slit and under the console, then on the side and down past the ECU out the gromit to the engine bay, ran the amp power on to my fusebox, and the RCA's the same as the 12V

I see what you mean. Well, if you want, to avoid any possible interference, you can just buy some decent wire shielding. Put it over the power wire to reduce interference with speakers or anything else for that matter. I would gesture it should not cost more than $10 for what you need, but I really have no idea.

well both the power wire and my speaker wire have shielding. The power wire is normal but my wire has a thick plastic shielding around the wires.
