Rebuilding rear brake calipers soon******

Hi All

So if the weather is on my side tomorrow, I will try to rebuild my rear calipers

I did some research but only found info on how to rebuild the front caliper. I also found a series of mixed opinions on rebuilding them too. Some said that it was not worth rebuilding them and that it was better to just buy them rebuilt.

Well I chose to give it a try and rebuild them

If anyone has any info or comments it would be very much appreciated

Thanks
Eli

P.S. I also bought the little cube thing to turn/remove the cylinder out of the caliper

1) Have a look at the FSM
2) Should be similar to the fronts, but you have to turn the piston instead of push it straight in. Then there is the second piston behind it that goes to the parking brake.

i hate that cube thing --- they have a kit you can buy that makes it "easier" to change. Sort of like a clamp you put in there only it has the pins like on the cube to twist in the piston. You have to ask for it a few times at autozone until they know what you're talking about.... I can't remember what they called---brake pad changing kit? -- best things is, you can "rent" it! ---it's still a big PITA but this makes it a little better....
