How do I install the bellow on the rack and Pinion??

Im thought I could have just loosened the outer tie rod and lift the rack out. but that **** aint movin. Im ryin wit a hammer but I dont wanna **** anything up.

Any help? I cant find any threads on it.

Also i was lookin at the major amount of grease under it on th esway bar bushing, and Im wonderin what I can do, If I should be greasing the inside of the bellow before I install it.

Thanx in advance.

so you just putting a new boot on the steering rack?

you'll have to loosen that jam nut (22mm) that is on the inner tie rod against the outer tie rod, remove the outer tie rod, then take the tie wire off the inner end of the boot and the little clamp on the outer end of that boot. then slide the boot off. now since you have it all apart you might as well put on some new inner and outer tie rods

I actually changed both inne and outer tie rods last november where i noticed the boot was all ****ed up. I was able to get the rack out by turning the wheel thus exposing as much of the tie rod as possible. Then I banged the out tie rod upwards by the a few (at least 20x). So I got it all changed out, without having to loosen the inner tie rod, which is nice. thanx for the info..

the FSM doesn't say anything about lining the boots with any type of lubricant.

strange, wouldnt it make sense to pack the boot full with a high temperature lubricant to prolong the life of the joint within it?
Doesnt that make sense?
