I guess the neon kit is no longer in the mail! What kit did you get. After its installed, let us know how you like it.

Thanks,
Erik

Re: one more thang...

there are 3 pre drilled holes. One is for the clutch pedal if you have an auto.. which you dont. the other two are on the sides and lead into the inner fender well. If you take of your tire and take all of the inner fender plastic out you should see the whole and follow it to the inside of the car.. those are the only predrilled holes.

You are right about not drilling any holes through the firewall unless you have no other choice.

The best one to deal with is the rubber grommet which holds the cable that opens the hood from the lever from inside the car.
The best thing would be to cut a 45 degree slot and run your wires through. Make sure you seal the opening with some silicone glue after everything is done.

Good Luck

just drill through the fire wall right at the clutch plate. Its punched into the metal behind a small rubber flap.

Any pics of your setup would be nice. I know it would be hard to take a picture of that part of the engine bay, but you never know.

Thx

:o)

Forget that drilling and under the wheel well crap. There is an easy and convenient hole on the driver side. Imagine facing your engine bay (so that the driver side is on your right). It will be approx. 2' over and 1' down from the right. It will have a rubber plug in it. From the inside, you will see it high above the gas peddle. Good luck.

Is this "rubber plug" removable? or will someone have to drill through it? Is it a grommet type seal?

Yes, it's removable. Trust me - I lost mine! I guess it's a grommet type seal. When I hear the word grommet, I imagine a rubber fitting that only covers the circumference and leaves an open hole. This is just like that but fills the hole. I imagine it will still fit back on if you don't add too many wires/thick wires but you will probably reach a point where it won't fit back in if you keep adding wires.

So, if I drill a hole right through the center of this "rubber seal" (as you prefer) and run a about 2-3 18-gauge wires, I should be okay...right?

Sure, that should work. What I would do is use an exacto to cut a slit, rather than making an open hole. Good luck.

ummm WTF is goin on here?, its not a huge topic for discussion. Either find a gromet in the firewall or drill through where the clutchplate is, END OF STORY!

why would you drill through a rubber gromet?, make a slit in it for petes sake using a knife!

i find it funny how there is so much confusion over finding or making a hole in the firewall for some neon lights, lol!

if he wanted to make life even easier all he would have to do is find an ignition wire off the steering column. Thats the place where i go for igntion when installing alarms, neons, strobes, amp turn on wires.

Hmmm... we are discussing about "finding or making a hole in the firewall" because this thread is about "Whole in my firewall"...
