it's just busted. from my experience the quality of these speakers isn't the greatest. the fact that they were installed in '95 probably didn't help much either . on all 4 of my bose speakers, the surround separated completely from the speaker frame and the cones of the rear speakers were very brittle, i guess from constant sunlight exposure. the only way i'd be able to listen to anything was by turning the bass all the way down . i replaced the entire system with infinity components though and will never go back. if you want to keep the bose you can find another pair in the classifieds section of this site, a lot of people have bose speakers they're trying to get rid of. check with fanaticrockford.

well i know u can cut the power wires on the connectors and just use the signal ones but i rather leave them intact incase i ever want BOSE again. i have 2 spools of 16 gauge monster cable i might as well use!

I could honestly be quite pissed.

Why in the hell would you cut your rear deck and metal rear deck framing to house 6x9's? did you not realize that 6x9's actually sound worse than 6.5's, just because they have more surface area doesn't mean there better. 6x9's have more cone flex which means worse bass, and round speakers have way better sound quality than oval ones.

Stick with 6.5" components in the front and 6.5" full range in the back or if your feeling frisky then go components in the back too and mount the tweeters in the c-pillars.

anyways, come on guys. pioneers? why? why not go all out and get alpines? it worth every penny....b4 i had poiners in the front, and alpine type-s in the back, and you can hear the diffrence. alpines and much more clearer, and i prefer that. right now i got all alpine type-s speakers that i stole from my friend for $40 and i just ordered a CDA 9885, a epic player if you ask me. lol

I replaced my front and rear speakers in my '98 with Polk 6-1/2" mids and separate tweeters with crossovers, 12" kicker subs.
