Best way to install mud guards

I didn't realize the tires would be in the way for my screwdriver. Whats the easiest way to install these things....Will a stubby screwdriver to the trick?

While this is on the board (dont see many mudguard posts), I'd like to ask a question....do the factory mudguards fit such that they're not really fastened on the inside? Mine seem secure on the "outside", but if you stick your hand in further on the inside, they're just kind of hanging freely.

Darned mudguards...so cosmetically wrong, but in the long run, so cosmetically right for your lower panels...

I believe the screws also have a hex head on them. So you can use a small socket to get at them as well.

BTW - Paint them to match your car - see my sig!

Before I bought have my socket set I installed it by using a right angle screwdriver that I bought from Sears. It's only like ~$4.

Well, the BEST way to install mud guards is to buy a truck. But if that's not an option just use a short, fat, stubby driver, or better yet, use one of those "L" shaped tools that accept bits. Or, just take off your tire - you will only have to remove the rear two as you can rotate the fronts.

P.s. I think I might get some mud guards too. But not before giving her a 6" lift, getting a Trenz grill, removing the trunk lid, rino-lining the trunk and putting some p!$$ on Chevy and Ford Calvin stickers in the rear window. What do you guys think? Just kidding.

The front mudguards are held on by 3 screws... 2 facing the wheel and 1 from underneath. You can use a stubby screwdriver and just turn the wheel to one side to give you extra clearance...

yeah...

I got some mud guards from "Delio" for FREE! thanks Delio!
Was installing them in the dark so when I got to installing the rear ones I came into some trouble.. Luckily I have a short screw driver and I also have one that is L-shaped so that worked well. There are some plastic covers on the side of the fender (kind of like a trim) that hold the plastic shield inside the fender well.. those need to be removed, after you take those off, clean the area real well to make sure there is no dust or dirt stuck under there, then make sure the surface of the mud guard which is going to be touching the paint is clean as well to avoid any possible rust building up over time.. I just used the same bolts that held the plastic trim in place.. Mud guards are effective and they make the car look better IMHO
