Any benefit to replacing lateral link bushings?
Any benefit to replacing lateral link bushings?
Just a curious question, while doing some work on it (front bushings, brakes, etc.) I was looking closer at the rear suspension, and the lateral link bushings look tired, but at the same time I'm not sure if they are supposed to look soft.
Just curious if anyone has actually bothered to replace the link/bushings, and if there really is any benefit, or if I'd be better off just installing a RSB or something of the like.
Thanks,
Matt

One of the bushings in the Scott-Russel link is designed to move/flex as the suspension goes to work. That one cannot be changed. The others however can be. There was some testing done on a B14 Sentra over on the sr20forum and different bushings were replaced. Im not sure on the specifics but once that flexible bushing was replaced the car was all over the track.
You can read a bit on the rear beam:

If you want to stiffen the rear get Superpro poly trailing arm bushings.

I guess this is the bushing that is soft. While it looks "worn out" I assume it is okay?
