New AC compressor issue

Sup guys,

Have any of you replaced your AC compressor lately with an Autozone part?

I ordered one from Autozone.com being that it was about 50 dollars cheaper and found that I'm having a problem connecting the original hoses to the replacement compressor. For some crazy reason, Nissan decided to change the design of the connection on some of their compressors which makes the opening a little smaller. Now I can't connected and tighten the hoses to the compressor.

Anyone understand what I'm saying here and if you have any info, please let me know what you did to get around this.

Living back in MA, the heat wasn't an issue for NC is a whole new beast when it comes to heat. I need to get this AC working fast.

Thanks.

It was built 11/96. I purchased what was listed for my vehicle. Autozone has 2 part numbers and they both are physically the same which doesn't help me at all. I'm going to take it back and get my cash back until i can figure out what to do.

Try to track down and guy named Tom Greenleaf.

I am most confident you'll find the answer(s) the problem by talking to him.

Measure the suction port on the compressor
If the port diameter = 12.8mm (0.503") and has a shallow step use compressor # 92600-40u01
if the port diameter = 14.8mm (0.583") use compressor 92600-2y010
if the port diameter =16.5mm (0.65") and is 10.2mm (0.40") deep use compressor #92600-0L703

you should have last one in there according to my info, but measuring the port will virtually guarantee the right one. Those #s are Nissan OE Parts numbers
