Knock Sensor?

Knock Sensor?
I've been told by a mechanic that my car's performance is being hurt by a faulty knock sensor (it needs to be replaced)... car has 154K miles and does feel a bit sluggish... Do you think changing a knock sensor will make the car a bit more responsive?

Got a fault code? Tested the KS's resistance and wiring harness for voltage? It's not "worth" replacing parts unless you've confirmed they are in fact bad.

Hate to jack your thread a bit, but I felt the forum did not need another KS thread.
Anyways, if I have a faulty KS or harness with an accompanying KS code, will the car be sluggish at all times? In other words, will the car feel sluggish when the engine is cold and when it warms up? I ask because I had a KS code, replaced the KS yet still have the KS code. My car is sluggish in the lower RPMS but ONLY when the car is fully warmed up. While the car is cold, its runs like a dream. I was told that an engine coolant sensor can cause this type of issue and I just wanted to hear that its not something wrong with the KS harness or the new KS itself.
Thanks
