NOS Question - MSD Window Switch

Hi. Before you tell me to search, I did. I found one answer, but I want a few people's input. Thanks. I just got the MSD window switch and I sent it to MSD. Now I need to get the pills. I know where to get them, but my ? is what is your on/off #'s. I saw someone who said they run 3000 on, 6200 off. I have an auto and figured 3400 on and 6000 off is good, but I am not sure.

Thanks for your help.

I like to be able to floor it before 3200 rpms, if I have the Nitrous on, and I floor it at 1000 rpms, I will be spraying at low rpms, which is no good.

Spraying through a gear change in an automatic is also not good. 3K and 6200 are fine... (I wonder who told you those numbers..)

When you purchase pills, they come in a set of 5 or 6. Forgot but it gives you options of toying with when you want your NOS to engage and disengage.

Mine is set to spray at 3.4k - 6k rpms.

For me, when i drag, my car isnt floored till about 3k rpms. It all comes down to laucnhing technique. I launch @ 1500rpms and this give me 2.31 60fts which i think is good for auto (well at least for having only 3 mods). That is one reason why i dont srpay early. I have learned to launch at that rpm and when to floor it.

If you spray too early, your tires will break loose. With a 50 shot my tires already "chirp" when the NOS engages.

I have experimented with spraying @ 3k -3.4 rpms so far at the track. It hasnt really yielded me any different numbers. The only thing it changed was my 60ft times. (From 2.3 - 2.4) When i sprayed low, i had worse 60ft times but my 1/4 time & trap speed was almost identical. I think this is just b/c of some tire spin.

I also used to spray thourgh gears before i had my windwo switch. I had my vb mod so i wasnt worrying about it b/c it shifted so fast. You owuld think spraying though gears would give you better time since the NOS is still srpaying thus making you HP higher vs the window switch cutting it of and the HP rolls off, but it doesnt. I have gotten the same times w/ & w/o the Window Switch.

I hope this clears some if nto all your questions.

Thanks everyone. I think I am going to run 3400 and 6000, unless I try 6200 and like it better. Anyway, they are sold in set of 5 rising 200rpms each. They are 25 for set of 5. I am going to get the 3K and 58K set

One more thing. The reason why i have mine shift @ 6k is b/c i lose power after 5.8k rpms and b/c i my tranny shifts before redline. I use my 15" steel rims dropped down to 20psi and this changes the drive ratio so my tranny shifts earlier. It thinks its red-lining but it really isnt.

Just another way to alter shifting the "cheap" way.

So if I am running the stock tranny, (soon to get don's), on 17's, I should set the pill for 6200?

What i would do it floor the car and see exactly where it shifts when you are @ WOT. From there i would get pills for about 1-200rpms before the shift. Say it shifts at 6300rpm i would have it set for 6100 to shift. My car shifts at about 6150rpms when i ride on my 15's.

Its hard to tell with the factory tach, everyone knows they aren't acurate. If I tell it to close at 6200 and it shifts at 6000, then it will still not spray unless i get back up to the 32, 3400, right? Thanks for all your help, btw.
