Sunroof doesn't slide back

I have a 97 Maxim GXE and the sunroof goes up and down, but won't slide back. I had a friend, who is a mechanic take a look at it and says there is nothing stuck in it tracks, so it might need a new switch. How would I go about replacing something like that??

We're talking about hood struts and you ask about sunroof controls.

Post your question here for lots of people to see.

I've never done it before, but I'd be willing to bet you just pop the cover off gently with a screwdriver to gain access to the switch. Unscrew and replace.
