motor swaps

has anyone ever done a swap involving the VE30E and or VG30E engines. Now before any body bashies me about this post, First yes i did not do enough research on my end and therefore have not been in the SEARCH toolbar, for that im sorry! SECOND i love the VQ power plant, but was thinking bout more power gains from top end work and tuning with either the VE30E or VG30E than compared to the VQ30DE.

Now im not bashing any of the motors mentioned above but am very very interested in tryin to find the numbers on each motor in the 4th/A32 chasiss. if it has ever been done before, and if not what the numbers currently are between the motors that have done cams, throttle, ignition, etc. This is only for N/A purposes not trying to do forced induction at the moment.

SO if anyone knows any info please send it this way...and when i get off work the first thing i will be doing is using the search bar.

once again this is only for the motors that have had top end work already done, no bottom end.

I heard a guy talk about it and became very very interested in the whole idea, but was not sure if he swapped the motors into the 4th gen or kept them in the 3RD gen max.

thanks guys/gals

(already posted the same thread in the 3RD gen section just incase anybody wanted to throw that out)

first off, most states wont let you swap in an engine that is older than the car

Hmm..I honestly can't see the point of doing this swap. I know the stock U.S. version VQ30DE wheezes a bit after 5 grand, but for some reason I don't think a VE30 or VG 30 would yield any gains in speed, and if they do give slight gains in the far top end, my question is why?

For less time, money, and hassle you could put on a 2.5 inch mandrel bent y-pipe and a variable intake manifold from a 2000-2001 VQ30DEK and have a pretty kick *** motor right there. Not to mention the VQ is lighter too......
