HELP---Need to replace front wheel bearing....

Hey my driver side wheel bearing is going bad and it makes a SH*T load of noise right now and need to change it asap. Anyway last time i had my friend who is a Nissan tech help me because he had better tools...(slide hammer) to pull hub off. My question is, is there any way to change it without that hammer? I really want to change it tonight and am wondering if there is any way to do that....Thanks

have fun it a ***** and a half... the best thing to do is to remove the whole knuckle and take it to midas or somthing and make them press it out and put the new one in for you...

i took mine to nissan and they did it for me for like 30 bucks..

I am just curious, is it possible to just buy a complete knuckle assembly/hub or whatever that whole piece is called, install it, and then give them your old one back and get the core charge back? I assume that would be pretty dang easy, and if its not too expensive to begin with and you get like half your money back with a core charge it might not be too bad.

Can this be done? Anyone done it?

Well I recently did my bearings. The bearings cost me $90 (Timken) and $80 for machine press to get the old ones out and press the new ones in. As others said, take the knuckle off the vehicle and take it to the press shop..... Best way!!!

Dubbya and I did mine recently. We didnt use a slide hammer.
I purchased a new hub and bearing. Removed the old hub and used an old bearing race thats had its diameter grinded down a bit to tap in the new bearing. New hub already had its studs in so after the bearing was in, reassembled the hub onto the car and done.
