Alright guys, I have a 1995 Nissan Maxima that a friend of mine borrowed and blew the head gaskets on. I went ahead and replaced the head gaskets with the engine still in the car but now the engine will not start. The Timing is dead on, spark is definitely present, fuel lines definitely have pressure (fuel pump is working) but the injectors are not firing. I didn't install the accessories back until I could get the engine to crank so everything is readily accessible (for trouble shooting purposes). I've raised the front injector rail up to see if what the injectors are doing but no fuel is coming out of it. Prior to the head gasket replacement the car was running, even drove it into its current spot.
Now... based on the research that I was able to do using this great forum I've noticed and performed a few tasks but to no avail. The ECU was intermittenly throwing a code for the CPS and I have since swapped it with another one. The SECURITY light is continously flashing inside the car indicating to me that the security system might have something to do with it. As a side note, I've also noticed that the remote for alarm is not unlocking the car either, only thing that is operational via the remote is the trunk release.
Anyone that could help and lead to the resolution to this issue will receive $20 via paypal (not much, just to show my appreciation).

Double check to make sure EVERYTHING is connected. you might have to check your ground and all your vaccum lines in your UIM. Also double check fuel pressure in lines.
use a multimeter to see if your injectoers have the right resistance if they do you might have damaged them somehow... See if you can find some just to test

I might have posted my initial thread lightly but everything has been double checked and rechecked. The vacuum lines have been hooked up accordingly although I don't know of any line that would keep all the injectors from firing. I did ground everything, specially the two grounds held down by two 10 mm bolts near the UIM.

sounds to me like the security system is the culprit. check the connections/voltage at the security brain in the trunk.
I did read about the security system possibly causing issues but nothing conclusive. Is there a way to temporarily disabling the whole security system?

I dont have another full set of injectors to replace them with. B_Eaze I don't think that all of the injectors would have gone out in a matter of 4 days. Now here's another tid bit of something that might help. Initially when I hooked up the battery, when I narrowed the issue down to the injectors not firing, and started the car for the first time I did see all the injectors firing for a brief moment (ie 2-4 seconds) and then they all stopped. Something is definitely keeping them from operating and I was hoping some of you experienced Maxima guys could shed some light onto the matter. Thanks for everyone's responses.

I was going to suggest checking the G as well ... Kevlo just beet me to it.

I did ground everything, even hooked up an additional ground from the battery directly to the head. Is there a particular item besides the whole engine and the two connectors coming from the harness that need to be grounded?

the injectors get grounded mate .... you sure you got them all hooked up right and the connections are good? I suppose you could pin out the ECU and see if it's sending the signal, but I bet it is if it was before.
I thought the security sys disabled the starter relay (thus the starter) too. With the key in the ignition and on, it should tell the computer to allow the start procedure, so I don't think that is what is causing this problem. I really think it's your G on the injectors.

i'm not sure, but it seems like the most logical solution to me. 6 injectors won't fail at once.Originally Posted by kzoosho
Doesnt the security system kill the starter not fuel
injector harness maybe?

Hold up, we talkin about a A32 not a Q45 man lol.Originally Posted by BLACKonBLACK98

Do you have an aftermarket alarm?
A 1995 alarm system won't kill anything IIRC. Especially fuel.
Any cel?

Maf good?
Tps good?
ECTS?
All crank and cam sensors good?
Neutral switch/park switch?
Thats what fsm says to start with kinda

Im hoping he only has 6 injectors.. if he has 8 he may be working on the wrong car! That will do it everytime!Originally Posted by BLACKonBLACK98

I kid! I kid! Good luck to the OP. Sounds like G to me..

Well guys I'm at the garage, now getting the crank sensor located on the bell housing. Responding from my BlackBerry. The ground is all good, everything was removed carefully, none of the wires were damaged at all so I doubt its the harness. No cel, well ill post again once I get the sensors replaced.

what about the crank sensor by the tranny, as I recall that sensor is responsible for spark and injector pulse. Double check it, also its right above one of the cooling lines and if it drips on it. The connector might corrode so check that.

if you got a knock sensor then that is part of the problem because my bro's car just kept dieing when his knock went out and then it would only start a handful of times for him but when it was replaced it fired up like new so i would suggest replacing that and also i would check the relays you can pick up replacments at junkyards for a pretty good deal
The car is fixed. I ended up purchasing a new cam, and both the crank sensors which surprisingly still didn't quite do the job but everything was in place. I kept cranking the car, for the first five minutes it didn't give but then it started showing signs of life little by little. Twenty mins into it with both the truck jumping it as well as a battery charger hooked up the car started up slowly but surely. Started it a few times since then and now it starts right up on the first try. At this point I don't know what exactly fixed the issue but as a footnote for anyone that might run into this issue again the car starts and runs fine with the crank sensor on the bell housing disconnected so don't waste too much time on that. I have a very good hunch that a good strong battery charge is what was needed to get the initial start going on a dry engine.
