ok heres the deal jus got hold of a 95 max 5spd..i am running hot and it is drinking coolant like corona...i changed the oil with some royal purple 5-30 and threw some lucas oil treatment in..did a radi flush and still running hot..i have a new thermostat but havent put it on yet and i have yet to give it a tune up i just got it a day ago.. any suggestions...oh and also i have a weird noise coming from the timing area..i guess when i pull the water pump out i change that also...and other big ideas
Do you have a coolant leak?? How did the oil look when you changed it? if you know that the water pump needs to be changed, change that first and see if you still have the overheating problem. When the water pump is failing it can make some noise - that could be what you're hearing from the timing area. What does the noise sound like?
I got tired of the pm's so I calmed down
It might also help to get those limes out of there !
sorry ,couldnt help it...
lots of good sugestions. If there is a leak the pressure test would be a really good idea. the noise and the leak could be the same problem...water pump.

True, if the pump hasn't been replaced, it could be the source of the leak.
But before that pressure testing the system should result in no visible external leaks. If the pressure test determine no visible leaks and loss in pressure very slowly, then one is sure it is the water pump.
I had a small leak on my max and it was eventually fixed with a new pump. Pressure testing is the only way one can be sure it is the pump (no visible outside leaks).

after a while with leaks coming from the water pump, it will make its way to the ground, run the car for about 30 mins make sure u get some fluid flowing and check to see if anything is dripping
I know you just put fresh oil in it but get a clean drain pan and drain your oil. If you see coolant start draining out of the oil drain plug then for sure thats where your coolant is going. Soon after oil should start draining. If your positive only oil drained out then you can just repour it in the motor.
