Car not Idiling correctly - Please help

Well Im having a few issues with the 97 Maxima. Well let me tell you a little background first. The battery died on the car a few weeks ago and I just couldnt get around to charging it. The car sat in one spot for about 3 weeks. Well I finally was able to charge the battery and the car was working fine until 3 days ago. The car will not idle correctly. Whenever I slow down, the car just shuts off and whenever I turn it on in Park, the car just stalls out. Sometimes the car idles but idles high and then low by itself without me touching the pedal. Whenever I press hard on the gas pedal, it feels like its bogging down. Does someone know what this could be?

I checked under the hood and my CAI was loose from the MAF. I dont know how long its been unhooked. Cant be to long since I recently changed the oil in it. Could this have affected the MAF sensor or could have dirt gotten past the MAF and into the engine? Sorry for the long post but can someone please help me out.

Alternator is going, going, gone. Not giving enough juice at low RPM that is why you see the condition at stop lights and such. Pull it, or drive up to the autoparts store if you can to have it tested for free.

By the way, just a guess, but it is easy to fix if that is the problem, and it is free to test. Seems a coincidence that you had the battery issue right before all the others.

PS: please post back only if I was right
