By 'idler pulley belt' you mean the AC/alt belt? You say it's 'still intact' but does it show any signs of glazing, or being burnt up?

It shouldn't just throw a belt, but check to make sure the compressor and tensioner pulleys aren't seized up.

or maybe you tightend the pulley but not the pulley bolt or vice versa.

If you tighten the locknut in the center of the tensioner pulley, it isn't going anywhere. If you don't, however, it's prone to fall off.

But he's saying his belt came off...I think.

yes the ac/alt belt everything look good the belt is 100% intact no burnt mark nothing what so ever but as i was try to put the new power steering i found out that it did not want to sit in right when i turn the crankshaft pulley by hand it turns the belt side way so i had a friend of mines turn the key to see the crankshaft puley was ok and its bent causing the belt to pop out so i have to replace the crankshaft pulley, should i get a oem one or put an aftermarket ud pulley like the unorthodox one?

I'm guessing it seperated at the rubber section? Might as well just go stock, UDPs are nigh worthless.
