Stalling problem

My 95 auto sometimes shuts off when I driving it. It stops the dash lights illuminate then it starts back up like nothing happened when I turn the key. I think this is a dangerous thing when I cruising on the highway. Anyway does this sound like a maf problem or an 02 sensor. I'm making a scrap book of newbie comments so guys have at it.

I assume you've checked for codes?

I was told that if the check engine light isn't on I wouldn't get any codes. I don't know how true that is.

The only code that should be present with the CEL off is a KS code, really.

Any specific situations, climate conditions, other discernable patterns when this occurs?

mine did the same thing and shifted a bit weird. i found it to be the Mass airflow,MAF the knock sensor wont turn off your car.. so i hear. anyways check where the conection is on your MAF and make sure that the screws are on all the way. i took my screws off and pushed the 3 things i saw sticking out a little more in and fixed my problem. no more turning off car. maybe it could work for you.

dont know if all my info is right but worth a try

I had the exact same problem. extremely scary. especially speeding through curvy North Georgia mountain roads. Mine would cut out almost exclusively when I applied the brakes. Very confusing and frustrating. Finally I discovered that I had corrosion built up on the inside of my battery terminals (no build up at all on the outside)scraped it all off and it was all good for 3 or 4 months. The problem returned so I replaced the battery and terminals. So far, So good.

try cleaning your MAF with CRC Mass AirFlow Sensor! that sounds like your problem to me!
