Clockspring

Hello All...

My clockspring busted on me...don't know why or how. I lost my horn, cruise control, and driver side airbag.

Question of concern is...can I buy a used clockspring from like car-part.com, or do i just buy the part from Nissan...because its dealing with the airbag? It is a huge difference in price, which is why I am asking. Also, are all the clocksprings for the 4th gen's the same? Or is the 97-99 any different from the 95-96?

Thanks,
Woody

Thanks man. Is it worth risking putting in a used one? Or should I just ante up another $200 for the factory one?

That's really your personal choice. You could throw in a used one and risk it failing relatively soon, disabling your airbag system and rendering your horn and cruise control buttons useless (and forcing you to do the job again), or you could get a new one and have it likely last much longer.

Of course, the used one may very well last the life of the car, but it's all a game of chance.
