Steering wheel "shedding"?

Looks like the steering wheels outer coating is how can I describe as losing its outer skin, coming off in bits and quite dirty. And leaving "bald" spots.

I've tried some Armorall to provide a "coating" but to no avail.

Anyone tried another solution, even home remedy?

Either try a wheel cover from Wheelskins.com or get a new/used steering wheel. I have one for sale in excellent condition!

PM me your e-mail & I'll send pics.

or take it to a local place the specializes if automotive leather repair. They can stitch you a new leather wheel cover to the colors of your choice.
they usually remove the old one too. bonus. SOme places can do it on the spot.

I had this problem with my 2nd gen. Wheel cover is by far the easiest fix.
