300 ZX Engine Comparability?

I've checked the FAQs and found nothing so I'm asking here...

Are the 4th Generation Maxima and the last 300 ZX engines essentially the same? I'm hoping to cross reference a particular oil filter.

No. 4th gens are a completely different engine that the Z. The only thing close are some 3rd gen engines.

clee, for God's sake please lock and/or delete this thread before this guy gets ripped a new one!

If I see another "300ZX in a max" question I swear to god my head will explode.

He was asking about the oil filter, not about how to turbo his car using 300zx parts.

And I think the filter question is answered in the "4th Gen Maxima Maintenance Items" thread above.
