Audi style 4th gen headlights

Well, I thought of starting a new thread each time I have question, I'm just going to continue with my old thread with new questions. SO, for those of you that are willing to help me, please go to the last page of my thread for the new questions I may have or new pictures of my projects.

Well here are some teaser pics of my hard work and effort into these.

Feel free to comment.
I did partially take the idea from Max0224, but I've been planning on doing this for awhile, even before he posted his pics.

points for the work but imho they'd look really good if you put them in r34's with retro'd dual projectors - spendy though...
can't wait to see the outcome.

Looks nice. I don't like how Audi put theirs in this stupid curve, yours looks much better IMO.

Good job, keep up the hard work.

Toshi, stop wasting your Sakuma paycheck on visual mods and put the money into performance mods. In all seriousness, it looks good. I'll have to see them in person though when your finished.

Different, your pairing this up with some projector retros right?
Not sure how those LEDs are going to tie in withthe rest of the Maxima lighting, ie. the clearance lights and bumpers. If you could get them all to match color wise it would really pull them all together.

For service, lets just say I'm not doing work for others, but let me think about it.

I was thinking about buying the one piece headlights, but decided it wasn't worth it at the time or the money cause I didn't know how the outcome will be. I'll consider the one piece headlight after I'm done with this one.

I wish I had the money to retro some projectors in my headlights, but I don't.
If I was going to retro projectors in, I was thinking of doing it kind of your style.
One main projector and one small one.
What size is your main projectors? Also HIDplanet discontinued their mini h3 light... d*mn!t
The color matching with the LED is going to be fun, I'm planning on using PWM maybe to work with matching the colors. I don't know if I'm going to put LED in the bumper lights yet. We'll see.

Well here are some more teaser pictures cause I'm still not done with them.
Had a little issue with fitment after I had everything together.

To test the LED if they work I used a DC 3.7V battery, and then I connected it to the car battery 12V. WOW a big difference..

Here are the pics

tested with car battery during the day, in the garage.

3.7V battery.

close up shot of the passenger headlight.

car battery again, with all of the headlight stuff back together, but not sealed yet.

Thanks everyone.
I'll try to keep you guys up to date, but I work and go to school so, not much time. Especially this kind of small work needs a lot of lot to work during the day.

As everyone suggested doing this to a r34 style headlights, anyone want to donate a set of r34 style headlights, so I can do some measuring and come up with a prototype?

That looks very nice. IMO, even if you didn't do the corners, it'll still look pretty nice.

How/what are you wiring them to? Will they come on with the parking lights?

Well got some good news and 1 bad news.

The proto type for the headlights failed.
Stupid headlights have a small ledge where my board did not fit when I try to close it.

Good news is I'm making a new one, and on top of that I finished my corner lights.

The final product will probably be on Sunday, if everything goes well for the next few days. Have a test coming up this friday which I have to study for.

I will also include pictures taken from a distance of the final product.

The LEDs are off of ebay from HONGKONG.
They are 13000MCD, brand ...... hong kong? China has a lot of fake products so I don't know..

Write up will be a maybe, but I have to say it's a B1tch and a half making these.

I'm thinking of wiring them independently, so I can turn them on and off when ever I feel like it.
Do you have any suggestions?

Also by the time you posted you comment on I don't need to do my corners, I already had them on my car.LOL

cool in theory but it doesn't look great in application imo. might look better once you do the clearance lights.

are you serious? Its $1 worth of leds wired together inside the headlight housing...and then possibly wired to the parking lights. All you do is open the headlights, put some leds in a row wired together, wire it to the parking light, close up the lense...its not hard.

Im not trying to put down the OP cause the workmanship looks great, but for those asking for a write-up...come on...i guess i just gave you one.

Oh ya...for $300 Ill do your lights. Pm me if you are serious cause I am. I have alot of LED experience and Ive opened headlights before.
