Powergains from Hi Flow cat ?

Anyone have a high or free flow cat from either random tec or the new budget one ? Did you notice any good power gains from it ? Im getting a Y pipe soon , and i have a Greddy cat back, but how much would the Catt help , if at all , when combined with those ?

this has been posted about lots... but here is a summery...

a new high flow cat is better than an old (60K miles or more) stock cat

a new stock cat is much better than a old stock cat

a new high flow cat is almost the same as (possibly .5 HP) better than a new stock cat

a new high flow cat is cheaper than a new stock cat

Justin Gadladge dynoed a 7hp, 16lb/ft gain when he installed his RT cat. The dyno charts are on his website.

Hollowed cats & test pipes do not give much if any gains unless you are putting down massive power.

I run 100 shot NOS and i havent gained anything from stock cat vs hollowed out R/T cat. All this mod really does for us is gives us louder exhaust and gives some people that egg-foul odor.

Justin has a SC, so that really doesn't count.

He'd have to have had at least a S/C and a really sh!tty original cat for those kinds of numbers.

That might have been before the supercharger was installed... I can't remember. I don't remember the mileage, either. It's probably on his website.

From everything I have heard....these statements are a direct hit.

everything smells at first and then it goes away. The Flowmaster was horrible at first but it went away.
