broken spoiler question

a few years ago i woke up one morning and some drunk @ss ripped off my spoiler while i was at college. it was just hanging on by the wires.

i went out and bought the little white clip things, but in the process of being ripped off, some of the plastic pieces to where the spoiler attaches to the trunk were broken and or lost.

the other week i was driving and went over a bump and ended up losing my spoiler... i need to put it back on to pass inspection, but wondering if anyone has any fix ideas as to how i can reattach this without having all the proper plastic pieces etc... any ideas?

chop off the plastic pieces and then buy some douple sidded tape that body shops use to put on door bumpers and soilers and such. then your good to go.

Thats what I would do unless you somehow can drill screws into it. Wouldnt want that spoiler flying off on the highway or something. Get some industrial double sided tape maybe?

Go to a body shop and have them mount it for you, they have alternate ways to make it secure if the original tabs are broke.

IMO, the double sided tape won't hold too long considering the weight of the spoiler and getting wet constantly from rain and car washes. Plus it can become a safety hazard if it comes off at highway speeds and possibly a ticket/fine.
