What's My Max worth

Just wanted to know what You guys think my Max is worth. I'm thinking of getting something else, i really want a manual.

1997 Nissan Maxima GXE,120,000 miles, auto, Power windows, mirrors & doorlocks, sunroof. 300zx Calipers w/ 13" Cobra rotors, 18 inch 350Z Touring Wheels, Tein Basic Coilover Suspension, Viper alarm with auto start. The car has no mechanical or electrical problems. Replaced all coilpacks recently for preventative maintenance. It does have a salvaged title but that was back in 2000 , way before i had it.

Here's some Pics

It seriously depends on where you live and the market price for your car in your area. Doesn't matter when the salvage title is from, that is going to seriously degrade the value of the car. Look up KBB for your area. Don't expect anyone to pay extra for your mods.

KBB does'nt give values on Salvaged titles.

That's why I'm asking an honest opinion on what someone would pay. I'm not expecting anything extra because of mods. i just look at them as replacements.

I'd still use KBB. Pretend you don't have a salvaged title, input your info, get a value, then subtract $500 for being salvaged and pray someone comes along and buys it. More than likely though, you'll have to deduct even more to sell it (like $750-$1000). There's a lot of people like me who won't buy a salvaged title no matter what.

If you have the time and original parts, I'd put your max back to stock and sell your mods separately as you'll get more $$ in the end.

use kbb in fair condition and don't expect to get more than that. you might find an enthusiast who will overlook the salvage title in exchange for the mods. although your mods (although extremely well chosen imo) aren't worth a whole lot.

you might be better off swappin the tranny if a manual is what you are after.

I thought about the swap, but I don't know of any place out here in Washington where someone would do it for me. Also looking thru the threads it seems like people have plenty problems after the swap.

I'll say 2 grand.... Salvage is the killer, without the salvage $3100..Aslo keep in mind sometimes guys like me don't like buying cars with mods cause it gives the wrong impression that the last ower was some teen using his car for racing and beating on it.

Have you tried the Northwest forum? How do you know if you haven't even asked? There are a few of us who have done swaps here already. What problems are you referring to? A swap done right should have ZERO issues. I've done 3 swaps that have zero issues. If you get EVERY single part required and can drop the car off for 3 days, I'll do it for you next summer. Too much going on right now. PM me and we can discuss labor cost.

Going off of KBB value and your salvage title, I'd say your car is worth about $2500 around here. (Seattle area)

Thanks for the offer i'll PM you. i havent posted it yet but there isnt much activity there or on NWMaximas forum. I may just keep it since it really does'nt do much to sell it. I got the car for free from my sister and was unaware about the salvage title until I had it shipped from Phoenix to LA.

Looking at the list of parts needed for the swap it just looks like a ton of things to get to make it work.

It's definetly not a 1 for 1 swap, but it's really not that difficult. Having all the parts ready to go is a must for a smooth swap.

i second that, shoppin for another 4th gen and as soon as i spot a mod i assume the worst and check the next add, no matter how good the description sounds.

I've also done 2 swaps, and several R&R's. As long as you have all your ducks lined up, it should't be to big of a deal. I can probably help mtrai out if you work a deal with him, but it really depends on how much time I have.

With those upgrades I would buy it, if it were 5 speed and i'd say about $2500-$2700. Just cause of the salvage... No Salvage I would say $3000-3200.
