So i tinted my red/clear tail lights.. *PICS*
THEYRE EBAY 95-96 RED/CLEARS
VHT NITE SHADES AND SMALL CANS OF DUPLICOLOR CLEAR COAT!!
looks sicc as fucc!!!...
WHAT I DID in case anyone wanted to know...
used VHT nite shades...
masked off the upper half,
cleaned off dust with tack cloth,
wet sanded with 1000 grit paper,
cleaned off dust with tack cloth,
did 2 light mists of vht nite shades,
wet sanded with 1000 grit paper,
cleaned off dust with tack cloth,
did 2 medium coats of vht nite shades,
wet sanded lightly with 1000 grit paper,
cleaned off dust with tack cloth,
did 2 more medium coats of vht nite shades,
wet sanded lightly with 1000 grit paper,
cleaned off dust with tack cloth,
did 1 medium-heavy coat of vht nite shades,
wet sanded lightly with 1000 grit paper,
cleaned off dust with tack cloth,
used small duplicolor clear coat and did 2 light mist,
cleaned off dust with tack cloth,
did 2 medium-heavy coat of small duplicolor clear coat,
let them dry one day,
next day buffed them by hand with 3m rubbing compound,
buffed by hand again with meguiar's scratch-x,
buffed by hand again with meguiar's gold class paste wax...
and voila!

It looks great though! And for including info on how you did it. I always wondered what these would look like tinted, as I have the same lights. Definitely would try this if my car was a darker color. I'm not sure how it would flow on beige I know it's going to look on the KN6 though. Finished product / installed pictures FTW!

That looks to be great quality. I was looking into those lights a while back, but the chrome top would have stuck out too much for my taste. And after reading no one has successfully opened them up to paint the chrome part black, I left the idea.
I'm interested to see the final product, since my car is KN6 as well.

took me about 4 hours, minus letting it dry for a day and buffing it out, i'm not putting them on the car til the car gets painted so it will be about a month or two before you guys see the final product!
