took off the throtle body to clean it and omgg...
soo today i decided it was time to clean my throtle body, i took off the air intake it was not that dirty to be honest. but then i decided to take off the whole throttle body, took off the wires and the 4 12 mm bolts thta hold it together, the bolts needed some wd40 but it wasent that bad...
there was so much burnt gunk i could scrape it with my nail... i went throu 3 large towels and a bottle of carburator cleaner, and honestly thouse 8 dollars was and 2 hours of work was the best thing ive ever done for my car. my RPM are much lower while driving now the car flyes now. I can spin the wheels on dry drive way by simply taping the gass pedal i recomend this to everyone it was the best 2 hours ive spent on my car.

Funny, I just cleaned mine and my idle's a little higher. Before it would idle down to 550 warm, now it's more like 850. I hear a lot of people say that 850's the optimum idle speed, so I hope it's a positive product of me cleaning the TB, not the negative product of me putting something back on wrong. (I'm sure I didn't though..)
Also just did my fuel filter. MPGs FTW.

Needle nose pliers like the poster above said. Or, you can always cut them off and reinstall new hoses. When I had the 4th gen TB those hoses were crusty, bulging and eventually started to leak. I cut em right off and replaced w/ new hose! So if they're in bad condition you can always just do that.

Sometimes it's easy to get a flathead screwdriver to slide the hoses off the fittings, just be careful not to tear them (or slip and nick yourself, ask my pinky). Also rubber hoses are easier to work with the warmer they are; some people let the engine warm up, some use blow dryers and other such devices. Pliers work but it's easy to tear or stretch the hoses, maybe wrap a rag or something around it first? (You'd lose grip though..)

use Wd40, spray alittle bit around the end of the hoses connected to the tb, then using a slight twisting motion it should come off like butter. may take some finagling to get the hose to move but once you break the seal that has been made, the wd will help it slide off easily.

yeahh i put wd 40 on the hoses well didnt rly spray it on i just sprayed wd 40 everywhere due to the fact i lost my smart straw lol and it came off like butter but the other one i had to use a flat head whitch didnt take much effort eather.

Funny though, when I did mine at 75K (I had a low idle for different reasons) mine was clean as a whistle. Just used one rag and some TB cleaner and was done in 20min.
