heated seats question

i recently bought a leather interior for my 96gxe , i dunno wat year the leather came from but it works fine in my car, now my problem is that how can i get the heated seats part to turn on for winter, theres a plug underneath for power to the heated element but when i saw the actually wiring from a 96 gle the heated seat harness feeds under the center console to the main harness is there anyway for me to turn the heat on? i bought the switches and wire harness from a org. member already how do i wire it up?

I have a feeling your seats have side airbags. Do they? I say this because there are no white or yellow wires that are part of the heated seats system. Yellow usually signifies airbag.

Can you post up pics of exactly what parts you have?

The 3 wires see coming from under my carpet connect the harness from the seat to the heated seat switch.

The white wires can share the same power source, hence why they are merged into one. Just like the FSM pic.

Hey Wizard, i recieved my harness and switches all in one piece today in the mail the is all connected, no cut wires or anything from the heated seat switch all the way down to the plug thats go into the seat. I called the dealer and they said its probably cuz the leather i have is from a 99 which is the reason i have yellow black and white wire coming from my seat. i checked the plug and it pluged into my seat as well. i have the harness plugged under my seat and the other end has the switches plugged in as well. i went to autozne and they dont carry ADD a circiut thing anymore. So plz can u guide me from here, i dont have 3 wires coming from under my seat like u have and can i plug the wires into the connector that has has power all the tme. Thank you so much i really appreciate it

Glad you figured it out and were able to find the 'add a circuit' gizmo.

It's pretty common for the switches to stop lighting up but still function otherwise.

Sorry in advance for my ignorance...I am a newB to the forum. I have a 99 GLE with leather interior and would like the seats to be heated...atleast the driver seat. Any suggestions as to what I need and how to get started? Is it possible that the heating equipment is there but not hooked up?

Welcome to the org! Read this thread and all the links within, and you'll be good to go. The heating equipment is not there, you have to add it.

Your two choices are:
1)swap your seats with heated seats, wire it up per this thread and links provided.
2) Get an aftermarket kit, take your seats apart and install it, wire it up.

Heated seats pop up from time to time in the classified section. As for aftermarket

There you go. Now just track down the seats.
