MAF Sensor

I'll like to know the symptoms of faulty Mass AirFlow Sensor.
My car has 252,000 miles and recently when I decelerates, the rpm drops down to 300 and sometimes the needle fluctuates up and down which cause the car to vibrate. I haven't check for any codes but according to online, MAF might be the culprit. I cleaned the MAF this morning but still has no luck.
How do I check for broken MAF w/o checking for codes? and what else can be the problem?

Why haven't you checked codes? Is there a reason you want to diagnose your problem while specifically ignoring any codes you may have?

That doesn't make any sense. Check the codes, report back.

GET A OBD SCANNER OR TRY ADJUST YOUR IDLE SCREW

Clean the TB and the IACV, at 252,000 they are probably pretty gunked up.
