OBX headers

hey anyone here ever hear of a brand called OBX? i havent really found any info on them in any of the forums and im wondering if anyone can give me some feedback about them. Reason being, i got a 96 max and im looking to by headers and a Y pipe and as much as i would like to buy a set of cattman headers, its just not in the budget. SO if anyone has any intel on this OBX company and can tell me if their legit, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys

I'm also wondering about these....primarily concerned with the flex sections.

Great price but how's the quality?

I have them. I bought them like a month ago. The quality looks good although like 99% of the rest of the .org I don't like the flex design. The bungs are put in dumb places.

With headers, theres a lot of work involved. A little too much being that your a noob here (No offense). Plus headers will maybe add 1-2hp at most. Save yourself time, money, and effort and just get a y-pipe.

??? Excuse me ? So the reason most all fast Maxes here have headers is for 1-2 hp? I wish I had known that earlier...

greymax on the 3.0, which is what the OP has, headers don't add that much after the ypipe. i know, i had a wsp ypipe and then got the obx headers and actually saw the same peak power. area under the curve was better but i think that was the IM spacer i had made for my dek. now with the 3.5 headers are what you need to make power. just my .02 and what i know from personal experience and reading.
i would save the money and get just a ypipe. the obx headers will have to be modified to fit. my have been modified a little here and a little there. it would be better to get a stock manifold and gasket replace it and the ypipe with an aftermarket one to make power. it'll be cheaper than buying the obxs and modifying them.

what kind of modifications did you have to do to the headers? was it it just stuff like relocating to O2 sensor plug-in's? and also about getting a stock manifold, i think ill just do that and then get a y-pipe if aftermarket headers really dont make a difference without the pipe anyway

i had to enlarge a couple of the holes on the flanges that bolt to the heads, had to work pretty hard to get the egr to line up, then i had to cut the pipe and have a pipe welded in behind where the front header comes down to mate up to the rear because once they were bolted to the heads the two were over 2" off. the only reason i put headers on my car was because i was spraying nitrous and it would help with the spray. that's it. i wouldn't recommend the obx headers to anyone unless you can weld or have access to have that work done

Its just not worth the time, effort, and money in a 3.0
