which coil?

I just changed my plugs,. now the car is hesitating, I know its one of the coils. But how do i figure out which one it is? No CEL light is on. Do i just buy one and keep switching it out? I did notice the rubber boot on one of them fell off, i had to glue it back on. Thanks in advance guys.

Have you tested them at all?

remove one at a time till you dont seen any engine vibrations... once you find the one that doesnt make a difference in how the motor runs... thats the one thats bad...

How do i remove one at a time? Via the plug, on top? or unscrew them and remove.
No i havent tested them, how do i test them? (i dont have any electrical testers just so you know)
By the way it hesitates on low speeds, but on idle its a little rough, so i think by removing each one wouldnt that be hard to find the culprit?
Thanks for your help in advance.

If you don't have a multimeter, then nevermind.

If you get a miss at idle, then do as f550maranello2 said, disconnect the coils one at a time. Just unplug the connector.

did you really need 2 threads for this? Its not even like this is a subject that isn't heavily covered if you would do a simple search.

Misfire more (rougher idle) if the coil's firing properly, idle will stay the same if it's not firing.

That is, assuming you can test them while it's acting up.

Thanks for all your help guys.
as for chillin014 its people like you who make it more difficult for a newbie to learn anything. FYI i did a search, and i dont want to go buy 1 rear coil and 1 front coil and start changing out coils. Do u have any clue as to how much those coils are, but since you have 7,000 ans some posts im sure you do know. So what was your point now.
Thanks you pmohr and f550maranello2

Fact of the matter is, he's right. A search would have uncovered the proper way to test the coils, as well as this way.

Two threads weren't needed, as they both concerned the same subject and could have easily been asked in one single thread.

Coils, coils are cheap. There's a complete set for $75 in the classifieds right now, and they routinely come up for sale. Got a pick and pull junkyard in the area? ~$8-10 a coil, most likely.

False. Its newbies like you who make it harder on YOURSELF because you dont bother to take the time nor initiative to learn anything on your own. I'm pretty sure the stickies clearly give information regarding how to go about finding these things out. So in fact, I'm actually helping you out so you aren't always depending on other people.

I donno man, it took me all of 3 minutes to find all of those threads pertaining to amazingly similar discussions as the one you created. Where is the excuse?

chillin014 thanks for the posts but i already read them.
pmohr , and f550maranello2, i tried as you said, and the car was idling rougher when i removed the plug on each of them. They seemd to all cause a rough idle. Though i think one may of caused it to idle a little more rough.
At this point im clueless, and chillin014 before you say anything i dont have a meter to do the readings.
Should i buy one rear coil (which is where i suspect it may be, as one coild did cause more of a rough idle) and switch it out?
Thanks guys
