Window games

I have a 98 max and want to install blue led's in the rear window switches. the person who owned the car before seemed to have tried and failed and partially desoldered some of the contacts on the board.
I was at a junk yard and grabbed the switches out of a 95, brought them home, soldered on the leds and when i went to install them in the car realized that the harness is completely different.
My question is this, are the contacts for the harness the same for both the 95 and 98? If i was to cut the wiring harness out of the 95 and connect them in place on my 98, they should work, correct?
Thanks

You would have to check the wiring diagrams it could be different due to different models (gxe or se) as such.

the rear gle switches are different than gxe/se. gxe switches are mostly compatible with all years gxe/se.

yo, i have 2 sets - gle and gxe - that are supposed to be different but the connectors are the same on them??? got a pic of yours?

the 98's have all "blade" type connectors. the 95's have little pins for the top connectors and blades on the bottom, if that helps
