short shifter help? <<<Please Read>>>

I have 97 max 5spd and I want to change the 18 wheeler stick (stock) I have.

Any suggestions on which brand I should buy? I was looking for some on ebay (short shifters) and they are around $25-$125

have any of you guys changed the shift stick? and is there any how-to's so I can change it myself?

Stickies

There's a good write-up including photos, linked in the stickies, on everything you need to do. B&M is supposed to be good among others. And they also point out that although the Stillen SS is kind of expensive and not adjustable, it's good quality and comes with all new linkage that the others don't, and most people that have one tend to like it alot. But that's just what I remember reading.
