symptoms of bad transmission

ok last year around this time I swapped out my reg diff for the quaiff. that was a pita. Now recently, whenever i go above 20 mph, I hear a noise like tire-drone. Never heard this noise before. I went under and noticed no leakage of tranny fluid so I figure the diff was shimmed proper with the right preload, but I never really put much thought into rebuilding the other parts of the tranny like the 1-5 gears..is what I'm hearing tied to the tranny or could be something else?

Possibly your wheel bearings? Mine sounded pretty bad until I just recently replaced them with brand new NSK bearings. It is incredibly silent and smooth now.

Bearings or cv axle.

I also get a very slight vibration in my gas pedal. So you think wheel bearings or what?

I've noticed a similar vibration, I think. I started noticing it after having some work done on the car in late April, including replacement of both CV boots. There's a slight, but near-constant, vibration that I feel in the pedals and through the floor of the car. Last month, it was discovered by another mechanic that when I had axle work done, apparently the seal on one side of the transmission had been broken and I was leaking some fluid, but didn't have any serious issues yet, so he fixed that seal and replaced the fluid.

If it makes any difference, I've also recently had both front struts replaced, as well as the wheels being balanced, rotated, and aligned.

Have you swapped wheels/tires front to back to see if the noise goes away?
While you're doing that check for any play in the bearings.

If the noise remains the same after the swap, troubleshoot more.
A bearing makes more noise under load. So if you hear the noise change or go away as you go around left or right sweapers then it's a possible bearing.
If the noise stays the same under varying loads, then it could be your tranny.
Get both front wheels off the ground and put the car in drive, get up to the mph range you hear the noise and have somebody listen to the tranny under the car.
