Random popnderings....

And yes, dears, I did do a search before I posted this!

I was looking at my car from the side the other day, and I was wondering if anyone had come across a body kit or something that decreases the horizontal SIZE of the wheelwells. This seems like a stupid question, but it looks pretty bad, and I was wondering if any of the current bodykits out there actually dealt with this problem, or if I should just get bigger wheels lol. I don't think popping some body styling on there would cause tire problems unless you had 19+ inch wheels, but I dunno. If this is really stupid, go ahead and delete it.

no body kits that i know of, youd have to decide if you want acceleration or looks. bigger wheels are harder to move no matter what anyone says. they work against you. in cornering bigger wheels dont offer more traction they just usually come with stickier tires. if the gap bothers u then hammer out the wheel wells an inch and put on a 17 with a 55 series tire, the resulting combination would be a larger wheel closing that gap. it would decrease acceleration throw off your speedometer and your odometer. but it would get rid of that gap. if you would like to argue any of this... im more then ready for ya

heheh, I've never heard of body kits filling the wheel gap. They usually consist of front bumper add ons, (like a Stillen front lip), or a whole new bumper(Sarona), rear add ons (stillen)or a whole new rear bumper(Sarona). Along with sideskirts....But for wheel wells? hmm, lol... Lowering the car reduces the apperance of wheel gap, if you put on some mud guards, it will also make it seem smaller, in my opinion.. But the only other way is to get beefier tires with a higher profile or bigger wheels. For $ anything is possible though, just as people with 20s roll up their fenders, you can probably extend them.. But is it really worth it?

This might be the easiset/cheapest way to do it. Or I know Shadow is making new fender kits that have the cuts on them. You might want to see if those will give you the look your going for. I am not sure though.

lol. my car is lowered...I am talking about the horizontal (on left/right side of the wheel, not top/bottom) size. ah well...I was just wondering. I suppose I could hammer out the bulge, but then it would look kinda...odd....... Just pondering.

I know all about the wheel/tire size issue; I wasn't really planning to go up in size more than 17", but I would go with lightweight rims and lower-profile tires.

Anyway, it was just something I was thinnking about....
