what hood to get.

Ok so the plans to get the used CF hood fell through. Im at a losss as what to do now to fix my car. I need a hood but i dont know what to get. I did oodles of hours of research on what hood to get and not to get and i think im more confused now then i was before.
So that said i need some suggestions on what to get for a hood. i have a mashed up hood now and anything will look better. Maybe another used stock hood or if not that what CF hood can i get in a decent amount of time.

Hm try a junkyard and see if you can find a hood in your color until you save up to get a CF one. Like you said anything is better then what you have now.

What exactly is confusing about the hood choices for our Max's????
Why not save up a a little longer and get a new CF hood?? You've waited this long, why not wait a tad longer and get what you really want?

I see. I figured it was money since you were chasing a used CF hood. If money is no object, I'd go for the VIS CF hood as well.

Most people get a VIS cf hood and hood pins.
Several people have bought them from ebay.
It is recommended to put clear coat on it before install...

are any of the EBAY sellers better then the others...or have any of you had bad experiences with any of them concerning the VIS hoods.

check the .org for cf hoods, i saw a nice one one here go for 300 to someone i cali, but i don't remember how long ago that was, post a wtb in the classifieds or something and give it time, if you've waited for cf wait a little longer, don't settle for a stocker

Don't get it from Carbon Creations.

ViS is the way to go, wish I'd forked out the extra dough.

I've got my old hood still, what colour is your car?

Not right now... i gotta spend some money on my jeep!
the hood was 100 bucks...i wasnt expecting perfection.
the dude told me it was a VIS, there is no badge so i dont think its a VIS.

how ever after getting in my fender bender anything was better then what was on there.. so it was a great improvment. I dont think its the nicest hood around but eh for 100 it wasnt a bad deal. A buddy of mine does body work so i will have him spray it and clean it up a bit and do some hood pins.
i am going to get some illumnas this next month and finish dropping it. and after that i will drive it until i put a vq35de in it. unless my parents need a car when they get back to the states...if thats the case then i will de-mod and give it to them and find a cleaner max to start with..
