Throttle Body Cleaning

Hey guys, I'm finally ready to do this and I just had a question before I try. About how long should this take and is this an easy job for someone who has never worked on a car before. By the way, I do have a Haynes manual.
thanks.

It's an easy DIY, I did my two Max's in about 15 minutes.
Good time to change the fuel filter and air filter while you have the intake stuff off.

I just used carb cleaner and a clean rag to wipe everything down.

Cake man - you shouldn't even need the manual(I guess unless you car didn't start when you were done )

Yuppers just like everyone said its very easy, just make sure you don't leave out any sensors or forget anything when you reattach everything back together. Also, make sure to you use pliers for those clamps because it might be rusted shut like mine was. Make sure to wear gloves because the butterfly plate inside the throttle body is surprisingly sharp. And make sure not to crush anything under the air box and stuff when you put it back, good luck!

If your going to remove the TB, you should because you can clean both sides of the butterfly plate, make sure you buy a new TB gasket - Might as well do the IACV while your in the area - need gasket for that too

this was one of the first things i did for my car (first DIY job ever i mean)

i was paranoid that i would mess something up or not remember how to put it back together, so i asked a few org members to help me out.

well as it turns out it was really really easy and straightforward.
i wouldnt worry about it at all. just get in there and start undoing things.

Just finished doing this on my 97 SE. Esay and I am guilty of not doing it more frequently.
