Lights dim at High RPMS.

Hey guys when I accellerat and hit around 3,000 RPM'S I notice that my dash lights dim dramatically. Additionally, when I am on the highway and crusing around 3000 to 3500 RPMs the lights are pretty dim. Could it be the alternator or the battery?

Sounds like a loose alty belt, do you hear any squeeling noises? Checked the alty belt tension?

I'll second that. If it happens when the engine is runnig, I'd count out the battery. Mine's been dimming randomly for about a year now. I supposed i better have a replacement alternator on hand for when the idiot light finally comes on.

Just to add. I dont hear any alternator whine. How tight should the serpentine belt be?
