Alternative Spoiler Available?

Does anyone have any idea if there is a... what I call a "kicktail" type spoiler that can be installed on our cars?

See the one?

I'd like something like this but I want the mounting surface/base to be deep enough to fully cover the OEM mounting holes in our trunk lids.

Anyone have any ideas?

yeah, that's what i'm looking for but the dimensions on that one don't seem to fit my bill in that the mounting holes already in the trunk lid would be covered.

thanks for the link though.

if you were to get one that did cover the holes from the original spoiler, it would look odd. Just think about how big that lip would need to be. Good luck finding what you need.

Point well taken...

Perhaps I could/should mock something up to see what the proportions would look like.

Have a body shop fill the holes and refinish the trunk deck lid.
Then you can put on any spoiler you want.
The body shop needs to paint it anyhow, then both parts will match.

Or you could do the body work yourself and learn a new skill...I personally love doing this because you get to learn something you've never done before and you may screw up but just keep at it and it will turn out to be great and you have that feeling of yea i did that myself.

Just take note that you'll lose your 3rd brake light. SE's don't have one mounted on the back deck like the GXE/GLE.

Good point EEMaxima.

You'll need to find a 3rd brake light assy from a used wreck somewhere.

Not sure if it's a federal law or what, but where I'm from you HAVE to have a 3rd brakelight, you won't pass inspection w/out it.

not sure if it's a federal law..but i'm pretty sure its a law for all the states. I mean of course you have ways around it, but i would definately have a 3rd brake light for your own and other's safety.
