I was thinking of getting a stage 2 clutch for my maxima. would this be a worth while mod? What the affects of it? How difficult to install.?

Thanks

Yes it would be a worth while mod. If you have a supercharger or NOS it would be better to go with stage 3, just my 2 cents. Once my clutch goes i will go to a stage 2 clutch and im not going to be have a blower or juice. satge 2 has longer life than the regular OEM clutch and could beat on it a little more. i WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU USE A CLUTCMASTERS STAGE 2 clucth, thatrs what i plan to get.

Is anything past a stage 2 ever really needed in a max?

I just ordered my ACT II clutch. I have no NOS or SC but, it's nice to know I can bump up the power if I want. My question is: do you think you'd go as far as to get the aluminum flywheel? I think I'm saving my money and buying something else, but it's tempting.

No not really it is not needed. My friend had a 93 honda accord accord coupe and installed a stage 3 clutch in his car. The car was grabbing so hard that it split the tarnny in half, same thing happended to his brothers crx. The performance clutches grab and disengage faster and harder than stock clutches.

As for the flywheel why not upgrade to a lightned flywheelb it amkes sense on my part if yiou can spare the extra money. If you do decide to upgrade tio the lightened flywheel i would recommend the Unorthodox racing flywheel weighs like 7 pounds i think. The revs will be much quicker and faster. Think you gain like 10-20 ponies from it too becasue of the loss of weight. Hope this helps.

The difference between stage 2 and stage 4 is two diffrent worlds.

Stage 2 clutch is strong enough, more than strong enoough for all bolt on parts, and minor spraying The clutch pedal feel will be diffrent from the stock clutch you had before but very streetabe, and can take more of a beating and driven harder than the OEM clutch.

Stage 4 clutch is for major horsepwer cars that do serious drag tacing or racing period. Extremely unstreetbale becasue of clutch pedal pressure and is almost full race blown clutch. Not recommend unless you will drag racing seriously all the time. Can hanlde lots of horse power and if you where to get it your calf would be very well shaped becasue you will feel the pressure, also not recommend for driving in the street agian because if you get into traffic, the car will stall with you because the clutch is instant engagement. If i were you i would judt get the stage 2 and call it a day, its a good clutch and you will like it.
