JonBlz- I'd double check the "status" or operation of your fast idle cam before taking anything apart. Also mark or record whatever adjustment your fast idle cam screw is set at (that will make it easier to return to original setting if you for whatever reason need to).
Checking for fast idle cam setting cold and hot will give you a baseline of where its at. If it moves a bit between a cold engine and a hot one, and you have idle issues, you may have a different problem. Your base idle through the IACV may be off (and should be the first adjustment you make). Your idle stop screw may have been adjusted off of its factory setting (you can check the pic of mine above to get a rough idea of where the factory setting is).
Not trying to scare you away from doing any of this, I don't know if you're having the same problem I had. If not, I sure wouldn't do any of this as a preventative maintenance type thing. If you're having an unexplained high idle when the car is fully warmed up, then this may be what you need.

Hope this helps.

Dave

Good job Dave. This is a very informative thread for those with the issue.

Again, I don't have the problem. I only posted in here cause of the TPS adjustment question.

Good job.

Drop the caps, and no need to hijack this thread. Post in the newbie thread.

So I put a spacer(nut) on the stop screw/piston of the valve. This made the lines that are shown in the other picture line up. Thus making my idle much better.
