Injector 3 replacement 1995 Max.

I've spent hours searching thru threads looking specifically on how to replace Injector #3 rear bank. Before I attempt this project buy a manual I wanted to get any suggestions anyone may have on replacement. Is it something a DIY person can do? The dealer quoted me 600.00 to replace just one. They stated it's time staking taking off the upper manifold, and labor was the most part of the cost. Any help/suggestions would be great, I don't want to mess anything up doing it myself, but if i can save a few hundred bucks Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

If you're mechanicly inclined..it can be done in a weekend...and yes you have to remove the intake manifold, throttle body..you will have to buy a new intake manifold gasket, the injector O-rings, and fuel rail insulator...oh yeah...before you remove the injector from the rail, open the gas tank cap to releave the pressure. Hope i helped ya out!! feel free to ask me more

I replaced my injectors in my 3rd gen once..piece of cake

Actually - unless I'm mistaken, he will need to de-pressurize the fuel system before cracking it open anywhere (much the same as the procedure for changing the fuel filter).

It's easy, really. All you need to do is locate the fuse on the fuse panel for the fuel pump and remove it (set it aside). Then, start the car. (The residual pressure in the fuel system should be enough to get it started)* Let the car run until it stalls due to lack of fuel pressure. (You have now successfully depressurized your fuel system).

*If not, plug the fuse back in and turn the key in the ignition to the "on" position (until you hear the fuel pump finish priming). Now, turn the ignition off & remove the fuel pump fuse. Then, start the car. Let it run until it stalls (due to lack of fuel pressure).

When you're done, be sure to re-insert the fuel pump fuse!
