Quick question

WHen removing a tranny thats bad does the torque converter have to be replaced. Its an auto.

You might want to since it open but not needed if it works fine. Tranny problems already?

Yup i think because the vent hose for the over flow valve came off and the tranny fluid was sprayin out, i couldnt figure it out and when i did the tranny was done . So tomorrow its comin off

If the trans is bad, you're also going to want to flush out the trans cooler and the hoses. If anything happened to get into the fluid, it could get trapped in the trans cooler and get circulated into your new trans.

If you get a new trans, most of the time they come with a new torque converter anyway. Definitely replace it.

Another question does both axles have to come out ,I kno the driver side has to but does the passenger side have to?

Not necessary, but putting the trans back on, you may damage the axle seal trying to guide in the passenger axle.

I always take them out. Also makes it less of a PITA to get the trans in and on the engine.
